The biggest cheer from the Bernborough Club marquee at Eagle Farm on August 22 was for apprentice Anthony Allen after he’d won on Balkuin ($4.60).
Allen and Larry Cassidy visited the marquee early in the afternoon and provided interesting interviews with president Bart Sinclair. Allen, an inspirational young man who has overcome deafness to be at the top of his game, discreetly rated his mounts for the day…and Balkuin was the best.
Many of the 60 members and guests who attended the day had a nice collect and gave Allen a rousing cheer as he returned to scale.
Thanks to the BTC for again providing top notch food and service on a day which again was very relaxed, enjoyable and excellent value. The event will definitely be on the schedule for 2013.
